Summary

An exclusive edition with reverse jacket poster and photos from the show!

Belly has an unforgettable summer in this stunning start to the Summer I Turned Pretty series, soon to be streaming on Prime Video, from the New York Times bestselling author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Jenny Han。

Some summers are just destined to be pretty。

Belly measures her life in summers。 Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August。 Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad。 They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between。 But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along。

Den får fyra och inte fem för störde mig på huvudkaraktären, men annars var vibesen där。 Huvudkaraktärerna var lite pick me, jobbig och cringe vilket gjorde att hon betedde sig konstigt lol。 Men overall bra sommarvibes

I absolutely loved the TV series to this book, which is why I decided to read it。 I do have to say that the show is different from the first book, so I was a little disappointed in that。 Although I did really like this book it definitely showed you some things that the show doesn’t。 You really get to see how belly felt all those years and how it affects her in the future。 This is such a cute summer read and it wasn’t hard to finish even tho I already know what happens。 Highly recommend to read i I absolutely loved the TV series to this book, which is why I decided to read it。 I do have to say that the show is different from the first book, so I was a little disappointed in that。 Although I did really like this book it definitely showed you some things that the show doesn’t。 You really get to see how belly felt all those years and how it affects her in the future。 This is such a cute summer read and it wasn’t hard to finish even tho I already know what happens。 Highly recommend to read if you haven’t 。。。more

Wonder how this is going to tie together in the next following books, because so far Belly is frustrating and irritating me and I’m here for team Jeremiah。 。。。more

It took me awhile to read this but only because at times it felt slow for me。 I still really enjoyed it though and it made me miss being a teen。 I wanted to read this before watching the tv show and I’m really glad I did! If you’re looking for a fun summer read, this is the book for you。 I can’t wait to read the other 2 books!

It’s not justifiable。 I don’t believe that pain should give someone an excuse to become a jerk or a terrible person。 Acting the way that he does should not be glorified! The foundations for this obsessive crush is inadequately constructed。 From the beginning, we just accept Belly crushing on this guy when clearly both of the other guys interested in her are a LOT better。 Belly comes off as immature, whiny, and unappreciative in the book。 She treats her best friend, Taylor, TERRIBLY。 It is both cliche and degrading to pit girl vs girl against a guy and have it destroy their friendship。 She talks about her “best friend” in a “pick-me” girl style and is toxic。 Cam treated Belly so well, but she was an absolute *ss towards him (in the book)。 Just, no! Treating someone like this should not be portrayed as okay! I don’t think I will be picking up book two。 Despite all of its flaws, I did appreciate the summer and relaxing vibes of this book。 And, despite my absolute frustration at the characters, a part of me felt nostalgic。 Getting wrapped up in a crush (obviously, I expect more from a guy if I am going to get THAT obsessed, but I get the childish, giddy feeling)。 The excitement。 The moments of pure teenage joy and just having fun。 THAT was the best part, not the crazy love square (?)。 The moments of fun and joy made me smile。 Jenny Han also does an excellent job at writing memorable and beautiful quotes。 Simplistic, yes, but somehow very pretty。 I am glad that I watched the TV show because I feel that it does a better job at correcting all the frustrating parts of the novel。 It captured the nostalgia and summer joy while simultaneously creating MUCH better relationships。 The love interest is NOT a douche。 And while he is brooding sometimes, it shows more clearly that he actually cares about his family and Belly。 It’s the little things and I think that we really get to see a more roundness and realism shine through his character。 Yes, he is clearly going through some stuff, but the TV show handles it beautifully because it doesn’t make it his personality and he is still a sensible and caring person。 MUCH more lovable。 Her friendship with Taylor is definitely more supportive and affectionate。 Cam is treated justly and tenderly in this edition, making the relationship so much more sweeter。 Jenny Han has been EXCELLING at producing things for the screen!!! As a result, I recommend skipping the book and going for the TV show。 。。。more

This book really deserves a 3。5 but is still a fun read。 I think belly is a little bit of an annoying character but I do understand why and kind of like it。 I see how she is made to look smaller by the other characters and it is a very innocent fun book。 I like it but it wasn’t super encapsulating as other books can be。 I do look forward to the next books and am excited to see where this story will be。 I do expect the next two books to be better because I know a lot of the first book is characte This book really deserves a 3。5 but is still a fun read。 I think belly is a little bit of an annoying character but I do understand why and kind of like it。 I see how she is made to look smaller by the other characters and it is a very innocent fun book。 I like it but it wasn’t super encapsulating as other books can be。 I do look forward to the next books and am excited to see where this story will be。 I do expect the next two books to be better because I know a lot of the first book is character developmental and still had a very strong foundation for this to be a fun trilogy。 。。。more

Herttainen kertomus kasvamisesta ja ystävyydestä。Jäi vähän pinnalliseksi - pakko sanoa, että TV-sarjassa on enemmän syvyyttä。

Honestly did not enjoy this book。 Felt very whiny and just boring but I have FOMO on finishing books so I had to finish it。 With that being said, I did listen to it as an audiobook and I wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if I had actually read it。

Hayley Pinsonneault

This book took me back in time, what a beautiful coming of age story。 I really enjoyed Han’s writing style and I feel like I was very connected to Belly。 I can’t wait to read the next two books in this series

I don't know what to rate this because I'm so in love with the narrator but not really enjoyed the story lmao。 Let's say 3 ⭐ for the story and 4。5⭐ for the narrator and I sum it up into 4⭐?I never tried audiobook before because I always fall asleep when I try。 It always happened and I forgot the story。 But, this one makes me love the audiobook, the narrator is pretty good with the expression even though I was disappointed because the voice of the male characters did not change into someone else。 I don't know what to rate this because I'm so in love with the narrator but not really enjoyed the story lmao。 Let's say 3 ⭐ for the story and 4。5⭐ for the narrator and I sum it up into 4⭐?I never tried audiobook before because I always fall asleep when I try。 It always happened and I forgot the story。 But, this one makes me love the audiobook, the narrator is pretty good with the expression even though I was disappointed because the voice of the male characters did not change into someone else。 I genuinely love the narrator for this audiobookThe story was okay, forgettable。 Not really put some mark into me。 Well, it was teenager love。 What do you expect? lol。 The development of each character was not really significant and Conrad annoys me the most。 Like, I can see it clearly about your feeling, why should you close yourself off? It's obviously written all over your face! I bet his action reflecting on what happened to his parents, not gonna blame him but would you please at least be true to yourself as the time goes by? Then, there is Belly which an annoying girl to me。 I'm not a fan of her。 She was the type of teenage girl that I do not like。 There is angst in this book, I felt it。 But, not that good either so it was so-so。 This is truly teenage summer loving。 For a starter on the audiobook, I'm impressed。 Maybe it will be different when I read the Physical book, the rating won't be that much。 Sorry, not sorry mom! What I like about Jenny Han's story is she always put Asian representation in her story。 That makes me want to read more of her book。 I'm not sure I'm gonna continue this series, but let's see in the future。 This book is good for summer because you get the lovey-dovey summer love。 Just not my type。 。。。more

This was really cute。 I loved the summer vibes, they were immaculate。 That ending broke my heart。 I did find Belly a little annoying not going to lie。 She was a little bit self-centered。 Besides that, the books was great。 I’m going to read the rest of the books in the series。 3。5/5 ⭐️
